Th is home on the hill was set in a dense forest of more than a dozen trees. It had Oaks and Pine trees, and several of them were protected. It required landscaping at several levels. Decks connecting the upper level to the lower lawn area, a patio with built-in seating and a driveway with grass joints are some noteworthy features. The owners were very pleased with the plant palette which included colorful accents throughout and English Laurel as a hedge. The design innovation was a stepped retaining wall for which we worked closely with the structural engineer from Allan Block walls and the soil engineer who specified the depth of footings. The architects, Lori Hsu (LSH Architects) were equally involved in the grading and drainage for this project.
