Presenting at Cardiff, Wales!

I spoke at the Annual International Conference in Cardiff, Wales. Organized by the Royal Geographical Society, the conference was a confluence of planners, landscape architects, environmentalists and architects who are working on Climate Change initiatives around the world.

The topics ranged from studying preferences for natural scenes to natural disasters and city initiatives to look at tourism and smart growth. I was fortunate to have worked on a large scale project that can be used as a model to describe how city wide policies affect local projects.

My talk on green roofs looked at the challenges faced by builders, owners and designers. Addressing these challenges through different ways such as design guidelines or how-to manuals such as those offered by cities likes San Francisco, Denver and Portland, or incentives like those offered by Chicago are important.
